Himouto! Umaru-chan (干物妹!うまるちゃん Himōto! Umaru-chan?) is an anime adaptation of the Himouto! Umaru-chan Himouto! Umaru-chan (Himouto! Umaru-chan (Manga)) by Doga Kobo that aired on July 9, 2015 on ABC and then Tokyo MX TV, AT-X, and BS-11 on July 12, 2015.
In 2015, the 24th issue of Shueisha's seinen Himouto! Umaru-chan (Manga) magazine "Weekly Young Jump" announced the main cast for the anime Himouto! Umaru-chan.
Masahiko Ohta (YuruYuri and Kotoura-san) directed the series. Takashi Aoshima was the script writer. The character designer and chief animation director was Aya Takano (Shirokuma Cafe). Yasunori Ebina was the head sound director.
The Himouto! Umaru-chan series also features a video that Shueisha included with a "bundled edition" of the Himouto! Umaru-chan (Manga)'s seventh compiled volume when it released on October 19th. The OVA features an episode that was not aired on TV, with the anime adaptation of the series. The TV series' main cast, staff, and studio Doga Kobo also return for the OVA. The bundle retailed for 3,400 Yen (about US $27), and the pre-order deadline was August 31, 2015.
